About Rick
At Rick Carpenter Saddlery, we take great pride in our products. All the equipment we sell, we use ourselves on a daily basis, either competing, practicing or training. In fact, someone in our family competes (or did so in the past) in every event we make saddles for. The tack items we build ourselves are ones that we feel we can make better at a better value — such as breast collars, headstalls and reins. Other items, such as bits, cavesons and cinches, we can buy at a better value than we can build. Before we offer these items for sale, we use them ourselves to appprove the quality and value we want our name associated with.
Rick personally builds each saddle to the specifications of rider and horse. Every saddle is made with the finest materials available and matched to your preferences and discipline. These are true works of handcrafted art, designed with the working cowboy, true horseman, pick up man, champion bronc rider and professional rodeo cowboy in mind. Rick's saddles are built to last.
Rick Carpenter is a PRCA Gold Card member, three-time NFR Bronc Riding Qualifier, seven-time Southeastern Circuit Champion Saddle Bronc Rider and one-time Frontier Circuit Champion Saddle Bronc Rider. Rick makes his home with his wife Mary Jane and stepsons Jake and Cooper Orman in Prairie, Mississippi. When he's not in the saddle shop, he's judging PRCA rodeos or training a calf roping horse.
